YOLO - You Only Live Once

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain

Have you ever wanted to try a foreign delicacy, but were afraid that you might get sick?  Or thought about jumping out of an airplane at 12,000’, but weren't sure if the parachute on your back would open?  Or wanted to attend a major concert festival, but didn't because you didn't have the money to do it?

If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, then you are not alone! There have been times in my life that if I could redo it again, then I would have made different decisions.  I would have gone to Woodstock 1999 if I knew it would be the last time the Festival would ever been organized again. I would have taken the opportunity to travel around the world for a bit after graduating from University since time and money become very limited as you get older.  I would have taken my Computer Programming course in high school more seriously had I known how prevalent technology would be in our everyday lives.

But, hindsight is always 20/20.  Should have.  Would have.  Could have.  Didn't!

Since I don't want to disappoint myself 40 or 50 years from now and have more regrets about things I didn't do, I have started to value and prioritize life experiences above everything else.  And this is why I decided to start this blog — to remind myself that there’s a lot to see and do on this planet no matter how big or small it may seem.  This is what makes life fun — knowing that everyday is different from the last.

If you are a person who seeks adventure and once-in-a-lifetime experiences, then hopefully my stories give you some inspiration and insight about what you can do in your own life, as well.  Thank you for your support in joining me on this journey.

  4. Hi Ray! Love the message you're conveying here. We shouldn't have regrets about what we could have or should have done in the past but we can always work on the present! Going to check out some more of your posts now.
